Loud and Clear STL, a Sonic Arts United initative is a 6-week program designed to support girls, and young women who have an interest in the sonic arts, by providing them with a safe space, and the technology to learn, create and share ideas.
The desired outcomes are to raise the self-esteem of participants, create bonds that foster mutual respect, and provide the necessary tools, training, and mentorship that shows girls and young women a career in the sonic arts, is an achievable career path for them to follow.
Advocating for social justice in the U.S. & abroad, Loren D is an international performer & creator, winning awards from the NAACP & many other organizations. Loren D graduated from Hampton University in Virginia with a B.S. in Music Recording Technology, & has excelled as a poet, mezzo soprano, composer, & sound engineer. Originally a Chicagoan, Loren D has since relocated to St. Louis, joining ranks with the FarFetched collective as a post-genre creator & performer. She also teaches music engineering classes at the ex’treme Institute by Nelly, and controls the live sound for countless bands that perform in the Midwest.
